Ford 1910 purchased with 1500 hrs and FEL
Anyone replace their solenoid recently? NAPA is having a hard time finding one and the dealer wants over $200! The part number I have for it is SBA185816200. There is a website I found listing the solenoid for a 1910 with part # sba185816070. The photo looks right on the posts, except, it looks like there is some sort of flange or something on the back that mine doesn't have. Hoping someone else has dealt with this recently and tell me the online one works or a cheaper alternative.

Thanks Soundguy, that wasn't the site I was on but it had the same price as the other one. I thought the other one was a little shady because it went to an endless voicemail loop when you selected tech support. Still didn't see the replacement info but as member of the month I'll take your word for it :) Thanks for taking time to reply, with any luck you just helped me save over $160!

i've never done business with them.. but have looked up parts there.

they do reference the old part number as superceeded.. hopefully they are correct.

DO post back when you get it.

thanks

YEah, I am interested. I need a new soleniod for my 2110 which appears to tbe the same part. I called Napa last night, they told me they could not get the solenoid but the whole stater could be purchased for 500+. I don't really want to spend that as my post is loose which is causing a bad connection. Hopefully there are good things to say about that site.

Possilby. I took off the solenoid and the negative terminal is wobbly. I can usually wobble it and start it but sometimes it doesn't ever want to turn over and when i turn the key nothing happens. I don't know who rebuilds solenoids so I wouldn't know where to start with that. I did see a solenoid rebuild kit online at Oreillys and was wondering if that would work, but that seems to be for removable posts.

take it apart.. it's broke.. can't get any worse. I've managed to rebuild quite a few solenoids... never know till you pop it open.

I took it off and looked at it. I can't figure out how to make the negative post become more stable. there is a nut on it and I tried to turn it but it wouldn't tighten up.
