Tractor
Ford 1920
I recently split the tractor and removed the worn clutch. Shopping for clutch's, throw out bearings, gaskets, etc. Can anyone recommend a website or parts store? Google search for 1920 brings me to ALOT of sites, mainly eBay. Be nice to hear someone else's experience on this.

Also, I'm working out of a service manual, however its not real detailed. Any advice for clutch install adjustment or mating the tractor halves is welcomed!

Thanks!

All States Ag, Reliable Tractor and AgKits all have good kits

When you have the pressure plate bolted onto the flywheel, make sure the fingers are all the same height. Make up some alignment pins to by cutting the heads off of 2 bolts that will fit into the bell housing as long studs. That way, when you are pushing the halves together, you have the housings aligned

When I had the clutch replaced in my NH1920 about 14 years ago, the tractor guy asked me if I wanted a 'rebuilt' clutch or new one for about $400 difference. I went with the more expensive new clutch because I did not want to take the chance of having split the tractor again any sooner than I had to. So far so good.

I threw a chinese clutch in a kubota b8200 I had. Worked fine.

If you have trouble getting the halfs together make sure the alignment is really good and your tractor is in neutral. Spinning the PTO shaft while wiggling together may also be needed.

So after a few attempts I got the tractor back together. Tightened up all the bell housing bolts. Then something in my head told be to jack up the rear and and spin the tires and make sure the flywheel moved with them..... So I did just that and the flywheel did not move..... What am I missing????? Reverse, Forward, the Flywheel should be moving with the rear tires!!! If the tractor mattes up, the clutch, drive shaft, and all the splines should be in the proper place!!

By default, the clutch is engaged. Did you forget to remove some keepers from the pressure plate or something? Keepers may have been installed from the factory for ease of installation. But I don't know, I wasn't there. ;)

I guess Ill have to remove it and find out! I know when it came in the box the only thing that was apart from the clutch was the PTO disc, as it should be. I had the dealer set it up, at least adjust the fingers. I don't believe they or I took the unit apart any farther when it arrived.
