about the easiest way I can explain it is, the un-styled model the steer tower and radiator are fully expose and on a styled model they are covered by a grill. Probably not the best explaination but about a good as I can provide.

Don't feel to bad. I learned a short while after I bought my house that it was supposed to include a '47 JD B series.

The sellers sold the tractor a week before closing.

Our seller's seller visited one day and asked after the tractor. Her father bought it new in 47 and asked that it be kept with the house.

The snotballs who sold it evidently enjoyed the 5000 someone paid for in Maine.

Anyone on TBN by a '47 JD B in or around Dec 2000 - Feb 2001 from a place in NY?

It want's to come home.

Soundguy, Well thank you for the compliment and sorry about your thunder, the next question is yours. I see on your profile you have a JD "B", what year, is it running, do you use it or admire it? I got a 1940 "B", got it from my uncle who had rebuilt most of the mechcanical stuff including the mag. it starts easier then a few of the electric starts around here. I use it some for dragging logs and hope to get is painted so I can enter founders day parades in the area. Steve

Many thanks to you both. I had even been through Wendel's Encyclopedia of A.F.T. and couldn't find that info. So far as I know, JD is the only manufacturer who used that designation. How accurate am I?

It is a '50' styled B, no fenders. It's restored/retired.. and I just look at it in the barn.. though I do take it out for a drive around the property or the neighborhood now and then... Mag was rebuilt a couple years ago.. and it starts amazingly easy for how slow that 6v starter spins over.
