1949 8N Wants 1/4 Choke To Run

I just set the points to .015 and set the timing electronically, and it runs great. I didn't realize this little old tractor would have so much power. Thanks for all your help.

I do have the metal line, but no problem cutting a few inches out of it.

I sure wouldn't.

the tank tap has a screen, the sediment bowl has a screen, and the elbow to the carb has a screen.

if you are getting trash past 3 screens, one of which has a top feed settling bowl, then you need to fix the problem ( tank ), and not bandaid the symptom.

There isn't a screen in the elbow, so I thought this would be an easy fix.

I'd get a new elbow with a screen.. that's the easy fix!

Besides.. 99% of the gunk should be getting stopped at the sediment bowl anyway.. fuel flows in, sediment sinks, fuel is fed from the top.. AND it has a screen.

If you are getting crud past the screen on top of the tap, past the sediment bowl, etc.. you really need to address the issue... too much crud in the tank...

That isn't the easy fix, but it's the correct one!
