Nice, we used to use a 47 Cub and a Mott hammer knife belly mower to mow our pasture. That thing would go through pasture grass and weeds taller than the hood of the tractor. We also used a belly blade for plowing snow.

I think he is on the look out for local vintage implements to add...
Right now it is mostly for fun and to pull an old wooden hay wagon...

Had a chance to drive it around this afternoon...
It really is one sweet running tractor... a quarter revolution on the crank and purrs like a kitten...
Vintage tractors like these really are simple and reliable that stands the test of time.
Still can't get over how smooth the engine is... it's my only Farmall experience.
59 cubic inches with 10 hp but no slouch on power... if not speed.

Good looking old cub. I have an old Avery Model V that is very similar in size and HP to the cub. Tractor gets used in the summer for cultivating/hilling potatoes on our small scale farm operation. She smokes and rattles but still moves and does a great job on taking care of the potatoes for us.

What really impresses me is just how simple and reliable these older tractors are.
Almost 70 years and it brings a smile to all that see it... one pull to start and ready to go.
I'm guessing there will be around long after the new stuff with all the electronics...
See it all the time in medical equipment... as soon as manufacturer support ends most equipment is scrap...
My Grandfather bought a single cylinder Diesel crank start tractor back in 1949... it was the first tractor I had driven and got me hooked on tractors... would love to find one around here but so far no luck... lots of them still in Europe and becoming quite collectable... with a distinctive single cylinder sound.

Looks like it earns it keep...
