They are sweet tractors. And, very economical on fuel. Just be very careful removing the cultivators. They will fold up in a heartbeat, and have been known to lop off some fingers over the years.

We ran one for years when I was a young boy back in the 60's. Great cultivating tractors for the garden. We used it for the garden and raking hay. Motor was updated with a Super C kit.

she is forward way too far, only had 1-1/2 miles or so to go, said piss on it (with wheel weights and ALL tires filled she was heavier than I planned) :confused2:

I am just figuring out where everything is and what does what this afternoon, I need to get my tractor back down to the lot and use FEL to load up parts and implements that came with her

so I grabbed the weed eater to go find what else I bought, when I got the tractor :laughing:

found this:

a hay rake

a planter thing or something, it has two fertilizer hoppers and 2 grain/seed hoppers

a sickle mower with an extra blade

there is going to be a lot of "restoration" going on :laughing:

it's not junk/scrape until it pisses me off too much :confused2:

so haven't done much yet, to busy working 50+ and prepping for winter as well as fence repair.

She complained the controls were "hard to use" they were; so I took all movable rods and shafts off, cleaned, filed and lubed w/anti-seize

the hydraulic controls barely moved they were so rusted up....cleaned and lubed with pblaster...1 finger action now baby :thumbsup:

also the throttle adjustment was...ugh...well...hard as **** to adjust, so I cleaned and lubed control; best thing? I cut 1 coil off old spring and now she can move it up and down with 1 finger

so 6v charging system was shot, generator DOA, regulator welded DOA and since I had everything to convert to 12v, except an alt. plug end (should get today)

so today I will take old harness off, dig out some more 12v parts from lower building...(coil, ballast resistor and an Old Skool, new crimp style set of wires for distributor) plan to order a new cap, rotor and points today and then will have a spare set since she runs great now

Man, that tractor sure brings back a lot of memories. We had a 1950 model and of course it was the first tractor I can remember. My first hours of "seat time" were on that machine.
