1963 John Deere 4010 Diesel wide front, 24 volt

What is this by the ignition switch with the yellow wire going to it?

Is this a fuse holder for the lights?

There is supposed to be a resistor there for the dim lights. So right now I am only set up to have bright lights.

I don't think that is a JD part. I don't recognize it. The resistor for the lights is built into the light switch.

Seems like there is a ceramic body that goes in there and fits the two holes.

Here is the diesel wiring diagram but this might not be you're tractor exactly since there is more than one. Getting you're serial number will help you find you're exact tractor. but if somebody has changed things it might no look the same.

I agree 100% the part not being from factory but picture leaves a little to be desired for my "old eyes".

I need to invest in a phone or a new camera The pictures look fine in the view finder, but when you print or download them they are all purple

I can send pictures from my old flip phone. But I have a heck of a time getting them on the computer to share them.
