I'm new to tractors and don't want to mess mine up(1965 Ford 3000 Diesel). But I have a leak from the real PTO seal. From what I can figure out you need to do the following to replace the seal
1) undo the four bolts holding the seal, shaft and bearing in
2) remove the shaft.
Ok here is where I'm lost or have question
1) do I need to have the PTO engaged at this point so that nothing will turn, are there any parts that can drop in to the tractor rear housing or is it just pull the shaft and remove locking ring, remove bearing pull seal and replace ?
Any help is appreciated. Pictures are even better.
Thanks in advance for your help
