I know this is an Old thread but I just wanted to say that I have a McCulloch D20 that has been in my family since 1964 or`1965. It was bought new by my Dad and has cut grass every year since and will again this year. I have taken care of this tractor myself for all those years, it's never been to a mechanic shop. This tractor has been so reliable that it just doesn't need a mechanic.

The shop is also my home. I built a 50'x 120' building with 16' walls and built my 1800 sq ft home inside it. Here are some pictures. One is before I added the inside walls. The Log Cabin upstairs is my gun room/guest room.

I have rebuilt the starter and generator once. The entire electrical system still works fine. I've been tempted to repaint the tractor but that can always be done, besides it will only be original once.
