Snow Blade 1969 Montgomery Ward Squire

I can change my own alternator in my car, gas tank, spark plugs, oil change, and my job means that I can usually find out info on ANYTHING within minutes... what I appearantly can not accomplish is finding this information for my Dad, who showed me how to do all that stuff. My Dad wants to know how you put a snow blade on a '69 Squire, as well as a mower deck. It's a 12 hp that he recently found and wants to get it ready for our Western NY winters. Is there a thread that discusses this? Is there a website out there with diagrams or even any owner's manuals? Thanks! He's got a bunch of little JD's and is working on a Bolens as a project... We have managed to find manuals for White's and the JD's, or at least diagrams. Any one out there work on Montgomery Ward's? This is first one.

Well, I don't have any direct info on it, but I do have a 1969 Montgomery Ward Farm & Garden catalog. It has those model tractors and implements in it which might show how they were mounted. If I can find it I'll take a look and see if it has any pertinent info.

Do you have a picture of it? Maybe a model #?

Wards was the original sales outlet for the Simplicity walkers, although not all Wards walkers were made by Simplicity. Wards also marketed the four-wheel Simplicity tractors well into the 1960s. Exactly when Wards changed sources for its product is not clear, but seems to roughly coincide with the Allis-Chalmers takeover in 1965. The Wards Squire 6, Squire 9, and Squire 10 were built by Simplicity. Wards had a strong relationship with Gilson, particularly with snow blowers. Gilson made the Wards Squire 8, 12, 14, 15, and 16.

In the early and mid 70s, Wards once again turned to Simplicity when the PowrMax was sold as the Wards Twin 20 in blue and white colors.

That one was probably made by Gilson. You can check some of the garden tractor clubs and probably find about anything you need.
