Buying Advice 1973 ford 2000

I really would keep looking personally but I am not a fan of OLD small Ford diesels. While the price sounds low the parts for the engine are not cheap should it ever need something like the injector pump. It is just me but I would want at least a 5 speed with a double clutch. In those years a 3000 gas or diesel with live PTO can make an awesome tractor.

Guy says this about the Deere. The bad on it is below.

The head lights are not working. It's the plug where if u need to take the hood off u would unplug it there And has a small leak at the front where the stering Knuckle is Only time it leaks any is if your working it real hard in 4 wheel drive. Its really no big deal. Front axle has a dip stick and I have never had to put any oil in it.

No smoke no blow by no pto or lift problems or leaks.

I would check out the Deere and forget the Ford. Ether at 70 degrees sounds like more problems than you want to deal with.

I personally don't think the Ford engine was rebuilt............either that or it was a backyard rebuild...........if you get my meaning.

That is my understanding. I know our 5 speed had a double clutch because we bought it to pull the AC 72 combine because the four speed w/o live PTO was a pain to operate but did for several years.

from 55-62 a 5spd with a dual clutch would be a *6* model. witht he 63/64 4 cyl 000 models, all oem 5spds were dual clutch.

55-62 5 spds with single clutch were *5* models.
