If the 3pt lever goes back to neutral, what is the purpose of the friction adjustments on the lever.

What kind of spring action do you have with friction disk?

Answer: The spring loaded friction disks are designed to hold 3 pt control lever in it's set position. Without spring loaded friction disk the control handle will vibrate from set location. Here's you an example of a spring loaded rockshaft(3 pt)friction controlled mechanism on one of JD all time leading best selling tractors(4020) Take notice of parts keys #35,39,40 & 41. Also notice adjustment screw(parts key #23) with lever stop(parts key #31) that is designed to return 3 pt control lever to same location so that 3 pt is returned to same operating depth after being raised. You are aware of the presence and operation of the feedback rod on some later model tractors aren't you????

Your own B9200HST has spring cup washers on the 3 pt control handle. Parts key #40 1st photo. Your tractor also has stops(parts keys #140 & 150) to limit how far forward the 3 pt control lever travel for a 3 pt hitch depth limit.
