1980s case 1845 uniloader whining

i just purchased a case 1845 . it is diesel powered and runs great, the bucket hydraulics are strong. it has problems turning when it gets hot , it makes real loud whining noises, anny one have any suggestions where i should start trying to find out where the problem is. thank you

I dunno. It sounds like you didn't test-drive it enough before you bought it.

It would either be the drive pump or one of the drive hydro's, might be the pump if it is whining all of the time. A drive would give variation on one side only.

You do know the hyd fluid is 10W-30 motor oil, with a Case additive. One qt for every 5 gal of oil. I believe it holds about 11 gal total.
