I would agree with all that that filter for the hydraulics looks pretty bad and probably is the problem as it looks pretty tough to suck cool fluid through that.

Im with you, if you have it apart, you need to put a new oring in it even if its $20, makes no sense to have to open it up again in the near future, if so you may have a good spare in the one you took off!

It is Part # 24311-570500 O-Ring 1A P-50A
Dimensions are 5.5 mm thickness
50.0 mm Inside diameter
Hoye sells them for $1.90
Kubota has one for $4.00
I bought from Kubota because they are closer and i needed the part fast.

When I did the inspection on mine it appeared good, but over time it will actually get a bit "smashed" in the cylinder sleeve and can get to a point where pressure will escape and the pump will turn but no lift will be made. Mine had some lift, but after 250 pounds it was done, it just bogged down the engine and the hydraulic fluid just went around the O-Ring.

A quick update:

I have ordered what I believe is everything I'll need to finish fixing this tractor from hoye. They even stock some items I didn't ever think I'd find, like fuel pump shims (the OEM ones have some deep ridges I'm not comfortable with).

In all, I ordered up:
- Fuel pump shims
- An oil pressure sending unit (just in case)
- A fan belt (OEM looks pretty cracked)
- A new hydraulic lift piston o-ring (even though it looks fine, it's apart and only costs $3)
- OEM replacement bolts for the ones which broke off on the rear axle (I'm really shocked he stocks those!)
- Hydraulic pump shaft key (for the future)
- Decompression cable assembly (mine is missing)

By the time that order comes in, I should have the axle split apart and the old bolt threads extracted. Then it'll just be a matter of putting it all back together, adding fluids, bleeding the system and seeing if I made things better or worse

I wanted to order a new dash, as it is only $22 and mine is busted pretty badly, but I can't see spending needless money for a tractor I'm still not sure will work 100% (or even at all) when I'm finished. I'll likely just plasma cut a new one out of sheet stainless and call it good. That way I can exclude the holes for lights and blinkers, both of which are missing on my tractor anyway. (I can add them back later).

I'll try to keep this thread updated with my progress and document with as many pics as possible, seeing as everybody loves pictures :), myself included. Oh, and they may help the next sucker who buys a "bargain priced" Yanmar, haha!

I'm no expert on injection pumps (fuel pump?) but I'm sure you know these pumps are timed with shim thickness so you will want to be careful to put back the same thickness as the old ones. I'm really not an expert on anything but have lots of opinions. :D

When I was at Fredricks getting the loader installed. I saw the new plastic dash panels. I didn't know he was having them made . they look real nice. I ordered new tie rod end drag link dust (boots) covers today. You should have that 336 in top shape in no time
