I've had several of the old Ford F350 trucks with the 460 gas engines through the years. Never any problem with the engines - very reliable. But very thirsty as far as gas mileage. Don't think I ever got better than 12 mpg running empty. Loaded and towing it could be half that. (All were manual transmission, so I can't speak to the reliability of an automatic)
