manual hubs?

No automatic :( Not a big fan of switch on dash either. Tried it out this evening since its been a while, now it wont disengage. Going to disconnect batt and see if that works. Haynes nor owner manual tell me which fuse works it.

Nevermind. A little aggresive driving in reverse got it to disengage. Finally.

Usually when a auto 4x4 will not disengage its time for a fluid change. A wrap with a dead blow hammer on the side of the T case will free it also in a pinch.

I changed the fluid about 15k miles ago when I did the trans. Thanks for the advice with the hammer, will keep it handy. This truck basically sat, started it once a week, for 3 months, because of some of these minor issues. Now that I am driving it more, I am trying to work thru them. Next is tires and paint. It is a good truck, my wife and I have had it since we met. She bought it new in 97. Also, it is paid for (long ago). Cant beat that!!

I have had 20 plus 4x4 vehicles in my life of all brands. One thing I have learned is to use the 4x4 every two weeks or so. Doing this keeps everything lubed up and working. My friends that never use it have issues.

When I say use it I simply mean engage it for a 1/4 mile or so.
