1999 Massey 1240
I have a 1999 Massey 1240 with an iseki 1.464L 3 cylinder with 2200 hours. I bought it at an auction with "low compression" in 2 cylinders. Well my compression reading were 360, 250, 160. Leak down test resulted in audible air coming through the bottom end on the first 2 cylinders. I did not bother leak down testing the back cylinder. I cannot locate piston, rings, sleeves or anything online. I don't want to pull the head yet until I know I can locate a gasket. Does anyone know where I could obtain these parts? Also any other reason why air would reach the oil pan from the injector holes?

Have ou contacted AGCO? Massey parts are usually only available through them. Frustrates lots of Massey owners including me. Pretty much you have to order through your dealer...

If it was me, (I know it isn't) I'd tear it down and see what the problem is. You don't want to go buying hundreds of dollars worth of supplies if it's just a few dollars of rings. Or maybe just a headley gasket.

Even if Massey had them make a Unique engine that only THEY can get parts for (should be a law) you should be able to find a head gasket that will fit. Or not.

I mean, if you can't get parts for it...... It's junk no matter what. And if what you['re trying to do is get it running without spending a bundle, that might be the hot tip. Then if you have to go AGCO and grovel with your walet in your hands........

On 2nd thought, make sure you can get a gasket set before you start tearing it apart.

You can if you're in the UK, not so sure about here.

AGCO just got crossed off my list. I won't buy from a manufacturer that restricts parts availability.

Good luck.

The crazy part is, rings for that engine are 110 dollars PER cylinder
