Well guys, I replaced the oil and filter on my YM2000, and repaired wiring issues/added a 12volt socket for plugging in lights and such, including the installation of a new fuel filter housing/filter, which was totally absent and I hope didn't do any permanent damage. Finally I replaced the non-functional aftermarket temperature gauge and all went according to plan, except for the temperature probe which seems to allow coolant leakage from its top, almost like the fitting is not compressing it down well enough no matter how much I tighten it. It takes it a while to bleed through but it does. Of course I've not started the tractor yet but the coolant will be under pressure and I am sure will leak. Maybe it's because I installed the probe into the old fitting so perhaps I need to replace the old with the new brass adapter (that came with gauge). I also replaced the hour cable plus I painted the steering wheel and un-clogged the vent tube of the hydraulic system. Now off to recovering the seat....

For details please see pics below:

Also, I inquired about a manual on ebay and this is the response I received:

Four-digit Yanmar models are considered gray market and are in the
United States illegally. Therefore, there is no information
available.

Any recommendations in lending me a maintenance manual will be appreciated. I heard that the YM2000 is mechanically the same as the 195, and its manual would work, is this true?

Thanks,
gcp

The YM240 is the same, not the YM195.

And no they are not in the U.S. illegally. Was this a seller on ebay that told you this?

Feel free to PM me the seller's user name. I may ask them about a manual.

gcp,

Like the others have said, here legally and YM240. I think the TM195 is the same as YM1700. I picked up my manuals on ebay and from Hoye. You just have to watch and be patient to find them. Some of the other dealers may have copies as well. Len Shaffers name comes to mind. You might look here as well if you don't mind them on CD Yanmar Tractors Classic Manuals Set on CD

Since this is a continuation of your previous thread, it would be best to continue with your previous thread. A new post brings it back to the top.

As others have stated. These tractors are completely legal here. If they wern't they would be stopped at the ports by Customs.

Thank you for your suggestions!

Not to be redundant but my tractor came with thermo gauge as well as a thermocouple that is mounted to the radiator on one side and what seems to be a veristor/pot on the dash side. Could someone please think through this with me in that what's the need for the pot in series to the LED? Two options, 1) increase/decrease LED intensity, or 2) set thermocouple to activate LED at a set/known overheat temperature. I guess I could let the tractor overheat and discover what that temp should be :)
