I have had my F150 about a month now and thought I would share my thoughts. Its an XLT 5.0 V8, GVW of 7050 lbs. Tow rating of 9000 lbs. 3.55 gears with the E locker. 4x4

It rides great and is very quiet. Not as good as ride as a car but close. Its as quiet or quieter than most cars.

Good power the 5.0 is rated at 385 hp and it pulls good. I have not towed with it yet but I expect it to do fine. The most I will ever tow I probably 7000 lbs.

The tech on it is great. I have never been into that stuff but I am surprised how much I like it. For example no factory Nav but if I plug my phone in the nav on it works just like factory would. Great bed lights. A little Led light in the tailgate lights up for hooking up a trailer at night. Great back up camera.

Fuel mileage. We just made a trip to see my daughter. Mixed 55 mph and 70 mph interstate. Averaged 19 mph. Driving 75 really drops the mileage. Driving 60 would probably haul down 21 mph. With the 36 gallon tank 600 miles is easy.

Room. I got the extended cab. God calls it a super cab. It has the smaller back seat and the rear doors open backwards. If you had 4 adults riding long distances it would suck. But my kids are older a for two adults its perfect.

My only minor complaints is I wish it had the tow mirrors. For $300 I can add some plug and play ones. I also found some minor defects in the paint on the roof but unless your 7 feet tall you can not see it. Otherwise great paint.

Sounds nice.

2017?

6 Speed or 10 speed Auto?

Pick-ups are giant barn doors, terrible mileage at barely illegal intestate speeds like 75-80. I swear the eco-boost can get 25 mpg at 50 mph country roads, hypermileing.

6 speed auto. The 10 speed wasn’t available until 2018 with the5.0. I got a leftover 2017 because of the deep discounts.

I have a 2017 F150 super crew, Lariat, 3.5 ecoboost, 10 spd. About 3500 miles and I love it! Very quiet cab and great ride. 19mpg mixed driving. Pulls my Kubota L3400 w/backhoe like it's not even there.

Recently went from a 2016 to a 2017 F250. Dramatic improvement in ride quality and cab quietness between the 2 body styles.
Like dodge man says, I'm no audiophile but the factory touch screen stereo is plenty for me. It's no Platinum, but the XLT premium package has everything I need & more.

Ah, yes, those deep discounts! All those Toronto Sun ads in the paper, tempting me to bail out of my 2016 lease and buy one of the remaining new 2017's! And the dealer is also tempting me with a 2018, saying that for a mere $1000, I can switch to a new 2018, with the same options that I have now, and with the same payment. (The only problem is my current lease two-year lease, but the new 2018 will be a three-year lease with the same payments.)

Or, I could buy my current 2016 right now, for $25k (plus tax), with a little less than 30,000 miles on it, or buy a new 2107, the same model, for $41k.

Or I could do nothing until April, when my lease expires, at which time I will likely be over my lease mileage limit by $1500 to $2,000.

What to do? And I thought "Let's Make a Deal" on TV was complicated!

PS My current lease is on a 2016 Supercrew XLT with the XTR option and a "302" package contining a lot of goodies, and with an added tailgate step, Navigation (love it!), 20" wheels, and a Rhino spray-in bedliner.

I always thought the XLT package was the best bang for a buck on Ford Trucks.

End of August, I bought a 2017 F150 XLT, 3.5 ecoboost, super cab, 4x4, full towing package. City driving at 19mpg +/- 0.5. City driving so far. Cab is quiet, ride is nice. If it has a problem, it's so bloody big! Huge difference between it and the 1991 Ranger XLT in size, quiet, ride.

Eco Boosts when they first came out had no aftermarket parts. Ford part pricing was often 3X for common replacement parts vs a V8, JUST BECAUSE THEY COULD. I hope that has changed.
When an Eco-Boost gets all carboned up, which they do all too often, Ford says only fix is new cylinder heads. Blowing out the carbon wastes the downstream turbos.

Not so eco.
