( it seemed to get all the air out and began to run fine after that. I also suspect if I had bled the injectors like the manuals says to do, it would )

i got lucky.. mine went right to work after i was sure it wasn't going to stall in mid pass again...

When I got my 24D the gauge didnt work at all. The tech fixed it by fishing around in the tank w/ a wire hook to free the float. After that the problem recurred though intermittently and would eventually correct itself. In fact the gauge is sort of sluggish until 1/2 a tank is consumed and then it works pretty well.

I'm dropping the tractor off at the dealer this weekend for them to fiddle with the fuel gauge, I couldn't get it but then again, I wasn't sure where inside the tank to poke around.

As for the Matchbox, yes that is a Snow Trac. I'm also in the process of restoring a real Snow Trac ST4. And yes, everyone who sees it thinks I am crazy.

OK. IIRC he fished around in the tank closest to the operator end. He left the wire he used w/ instructions to fish around if the problem reoccured. I never had to so I can't be more help...sorry.

I still have my Matchbox collection I put together as a kid which includes the snow track. I though your icon was pretty cool. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For what it is worth, there are 3 different versions of the Matchbox Snow Trac.

Version #1 has white decals on the side reading SNOW TRAC
Version #2 has smooth sides, no decal
Version #3 has raised metal letters molded into the casting reading SNOW TRAC but no white decals or white paint.

I have one of each, I have version #1 without a box, version #2 with the box, and version #3 with the box, still enclosed on the original hanging display card. I had to bring them to work so my daughter wouldn't play with them! She also likes to push my train cars around on the carpet . . . I bought her train cars she can play with and keep mine away from her. Something about girls (and wives) they don't understand that men need toys.

Wow...youre quite the Matchbox officianado!!! I believe mine is #1 and is missing the treads b/c the rubbery plastic theyre made out of went hard over the years and fell apart. How many do you have in your collection? Having boxes must add hugely to the value. I REALLY wished I had kept the Matchbox catalogs.

I prefer to view it as activities and objects that keep me productively occupied. The alternative would be idle hands and unchanneled energy. In my case thats usually a volatile combination. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I only have a handfull of Matchbox items. Something about the Snow Trac is just facinating. Lots of people seem to know of the Matchbox but never knew there was a real live one! I guess, I'm lucky to have both. But with toys I do have a fairly nice Marklin train collection. I collect the all metal stuff, only 1:32 scale, only European pattern, and only limited edition pieces. So I hunt down corportate logo stuff, nickle plated pieces, special runs, anniversary issues, etc. The lovely Mrs_Bob was complaining about the cost of the train cars and how much she wanted a piano . . . so now we have an UN-played baby grand piano in the corner, along side her UN-played Cello, along with my daughter's 2 violins. But I don't hear any more complaining about any of my "toys" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
