I have a 4710 with about 50 hours on it! What all does the 1st service consist of? It is just changing the motor oil and cleaning the filter?

Thanks!

What does your manual say to do?

Well, that's another issue! I put it in a safe place but I don't remember where that safe place was!

You can probably access your manual online at Deere's website. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'd certainly suggest that you download the whole thing to a CD before Deere upgrades the 4x10's to something else and eliminates your manual online. Do the same thing with the online manuals for your loader, backhoe and whatever else before they become unavailable.

Good luck with your service. I just did my 200 hour a bit early just because it was spring and I thought it'd make more sense to do it early than late. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I must be riding in the slow boat. Every time I try to print the manual to a file I get gook. How do I download the manuals? Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hi, Bender. I managed to save several sections of my manual but was not able to save the entire manual as a single file. Perhaps someone else has some advice.

What I did was was click

"File"
"Save as"

Then select the location/folder on my computer where I want to save it

Then under "Save as file type" select "Web archive, single file [*.mht]"

You will need to do this for each section you want to save to your computer. I am using I.E. 6. Hope this helps

The answer to my question:

Break-in - After First 50 Hours
· Change engine oil and filter.

· Change transmission oil and filter.

· Clean transmission suction screen.

· Change suction side filter.

· Check alternator belt tension.

· Check radiator hoses and clamps.

· Check air filter intake hoses and clamps.

· Check wheel bolt torque.

· Check tire air pressure.

· Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts.

· Lubricate lower brake pivot tubes.

· MFWD Models: Check front axle oil level.

· Check air restriction indicator. Replace only primary filter unless secondary filter is visibly damaged or indicator shows an air restriction after the primary filter has been changed.
