I considered an LB1914 before buying a CK20HST w/FEL. The HST with the FEL really works well and you have any speed by pushing the pedal. No searching for the correct gear from many choices and slipping the clutch to get the correct speed.
Also consider that the LB1914 does not have a live PTO.
My main reason for considering the LB1914 was it did feel more powerful, I guess there is more power loss with the HST. With gears and clutch I felt that if it became necessary that was something I could service myself. Really don't think I would tackle the HST if there were problems.
The convenience of the HST and live PTO won out and I am very happy with my choice of the CK20HST, it has handled everything I have put at it just fine.
