I live out in the boonies so my options are somewhat limited for high speed internet. I've lived here for 20 years and have had satellite TV (Directive) since I bought the place. I've got Com cast for the digital only. Kind of pricey, but I'm also a real geek and use Linux as my operating system. So I down load updates often and you really need high speed. I've thought about getting rid of directive over the years, but just can't do it.

I'm so fed up with Com cast's crummy Motorola DVR, that I've looked into both satellite services, and when you get past the teaser rates in big letters and figure out what you really need to get the HD channels I want; it was going to be more expensive than Com cast's already high TV prices. Add in a 2-year contract, and I said forget it.
I would like to see someone get true ala carte 1080p HD channels available on the internet without all the ridiculous hoops one has to go through now to watch TV online. Somebody needs to kick the CATV/SATV companies in the butt to break their stranglehold on the consumer.
