Frank, I just got back from Home Depot (my wife wanted a new and different shower head), so I went and looked at the current Weed-B-Gon while I was there; don't remember the other active ingredients, but one kind had about 3.01% 2, 4-D and the other had less than 1%, but both had some 2, 4-D; just nothing even close to the percentage of what I recently bought and used. And I have no idea what the volatile ester vs. amine is, but the stuff I have is labelled in big letters on the front of the bottle "Amine 400" whatever that means.

In counties of Oklahoma where a lot of cotton is grown the use of 2,4-D is supposed to be banned after May 1(I think). Cotton can be damaged/killed by even very low amounts. They have recorded drifts from aerial applications of 15 miles. I wasn't asked for my applicators license when I bought 30 gallons this spring. Good thing, because I haven't got one yet. My ag extension agent got me the materials and test forms when we were discussing sprays for brush control. I'm supposed to be required to have it when I buy some of those chemicals.

....The label indicates 2-4 pints / acre, but I have no idea how much that is in a 60 gallon sprayer. I guess I'll have to look at the gpm application rate (from what the pump is rated at), ground speed and figure out how much product I use per acre. But I have no idea when I've covered an acre so I'll have to calculate the area I'm covering with a 10ft swath, and when I cover 40000 sq ft I would've covered an acre blah blah blah, you know what I'm just going to guess and see what looks to be a reasonable applications. Any pointers? I'm covering about 30 acres, not all in one shot, probably 10 acres at a time with frequent refills.
