2 bottom plow

I am from Illinois, not sure how our soil types compare. Mostly silt loams here. My L245DT will only pull a 2 bottom plow if the full set of front weights is installed and it is a hard pull. You probably would be better off with the single bottom plow.

It would depend on what size of two bottom. Kubota says it will pull 2 12" bottoms, 2 14" bottoms would be a different story. Though it may still pull a 2 14' plow properly ballasted though not very fast. A single 16" would be easy pulling.

For gardens and food plots would a 12 be deep enough ?

I would think a 16 would be real deep - im new to this so im open to suggestions

The inch measurement as in 2-14's refers to the width of the furrow not the depth. That is controlled by your three point.

So what would be the best for small food plots and gardens ?

The advantage of a single bottom plow as in a 16" would be the ability to keep the ends fairly even on a small plot. However it is going to take you longer to plow. On a small plot it should not matter a lot. It would also give you more time playing with the tractor!
