2 new mahindras today max 24 & max 26

Been awhile now, the 24 is great, have the 5' york rake, 5' box scraper, 5' rototiller and the 5' finishing mower. Have about 8 hours lol total so far on the max24. The 26 has about 15 hours on it now, the back hoe has been outstanding!

Have you experienced either machine going into bypass on the HST unit under a heavy load? I cannot stall the engine on my Max 24. Around here (WV), high range is pretty much useless. With the FEL and BH, I can get the HST unit to go into bypass even in low range. It will not spin the wheels or stall the motor. It has been checked and they say that is how it is supposed to operate. Have you had this experience with either machine? Can you stall the motor or spin the wheels on the 26?

I've stalled the motor on my 3016 driving deep into a dirt pile with my loader, and in M range. Never with it in L, though, it just spins the wheels. I've never had it go into pressure bypass. I didn't know there was such a thing on an HST.

All HSTs have relief valves. HSTs are closed loop systems. There are usually 2 relief valves,forward and reverse.

If memory serves me correctly you should have a rubber flap on the tunnel just below the seat. Check under there and look and see if there are witness marks on the allen plugs. That will tell you if the dealer was just blowing sunshine up your 6.:thumbsup:

I have never stalled either machine, both machines will bury themselves if allowed to. Never had them "bypass", I run the machines @2300 rpm and in low range when I am using the FEL, box scraper, etc... I would imagine if it was in "high" range it would lug and stall. Both machines have industrial tires.

I am a new member and just bought a 26xl, waiting on delivery. I will be checking this forum out alot, very informative. I have never owned a tractor before, I think this forum is going to help me way more than any dealer can.

Do yourself a big favor and read the operators manuel before you jump in the seat. You can save yourself a lot of trouble and possible injury by doing so.:thumbsup:
