Actually, they are the Kubota drift cutters, but I removed the side extensions, in effect disabling it, for the blower to better cope with bigger snow accumulations. You are seeing just the top pieces, which I left on to speed up reassembly.
The drift cutters are effective at feeding more snow into the blower, in effect widening the blower by several inches and speeding up your task. With my little tractor at higher accumulations I don't really want to feed it any additional snow, so I remove the side pieces, so as not to overwhelm the blower/bog it down.
