Has anyone ever converted a 2 point yanmar tiller to work on a 3 point hitch? If so do you have any pictures and description of how it was done?

ok here is a picture of what the back of my tractor looks like. It has a 3 point on it but has the metal frame around the pto is this originaly for a 2 point? If so this will be the deciding factor on a 2 point tiller or 3. If it will work with a 2 point I will go that route.

It looks to me that you have a 2 pt hook up available, but each manufacture has their own 2 point system. I know that my Yanmar 2 point is MUCH different than what you have. I have a 2 point tiller and use it a lot. I do not have a picture which clearly shows the 2 point system hooked up, but maybe separate will help illustrate how mine works.

The 3pt lift link attach directly to the tiller and the nose of the tiller is pinned on each side to a cover over the PTO. On the picture of the rear of the tractor you will see the pins that attach the tiller to the tractor.

Ok great if I go with the yanmar 2 point I think I will be able to to some minor mods to make it fit the tractor. A few quick metal brakets and some welding I think I will be able to make it work.. Thanks for the input.

If I had a 2 point tiller that did not match my machine, I would not try to make a 2 pt mount, but rather make the tiller 3 pt. That would make it easier to mount and more universal. And I do not think that it would be any more difficult.

I think I know how I will do it. I am going to cut the old 2 point studs off then drill a hole on each side of the hitch in the same location as the old studs and put two removable hitch pins keeping the original 2 point hitch. then I will just use the two top link arms and extend them dow to the top of the tiller. I think that will do just fine. I will post some pictures as soon as the tiller arrives.

I have a couple of 2-pt tiller setup photos that might help. Looks like a pretty simple connection, one pivot point and the two lift arms.

Great thanks for the help. On your bottom hookup how far apart are the pins that go throught the tiller.

Umm, that's not my tractor. I got that photo off the web somewhere, thought it might come in handy sometime. If you get the two point tiller (Yanmar RS1202, etc.) it should be the same width at the pivot point.

I will try to measure it today when I am out at church. That is where my tractor and tiller are right now. I will try to get a better pic of just the 2 pt mount for you too.

ok here it is got it in and got it all welded up not the greatest welds but it will hold. I took some pins and welded them onto the original 2 point hook up the had some brackets on the top of the tiller and welded them on top. Finally got it all adjusted and hooked it up and it works!!!! Let me know what you think.

The new improved version looks like to has a good chance of long term success.

Those lower pins need to go through the metal they are welded too. Or simply buy ones with threads and through bolt them. From the photos, I assume you did that in version 2.0?
