2" receiver landscape rake

Would this be a good idea...building a 7' or 8' rake that would fit my 2" in receiver hitch on 3 point trailer mover? I have some 1/4" 2" sq tubing and about an 8ft piece of heavy 3"x3" angle that I could bolt the teeth to.

For a rake that wide, if you catch something on either end, you will bend/break that 2" tube. IF you could guarantee the load would always be equal and a direct pull, it would be fine. But it wont handle the side to side bending load...

I like the wire teeth. I'm not planning on moving dirt, just debris that the root rake grapple missed. I would probably add some braces and only make it as wide as the tractor. I've always wanted a landscape rake, just never had the need to justify buying one. All I would have to buy is teeth and little welding time to help on tree clearing/clean-up jobs.

For the cost of the teeth, look on c-list. They pop up from time to time. 6' rake for $200-$250 seems to be about the norm that I see. And I think you would have more than that in just the teeth...
