2 Stars in our window

The little daughter-in-law is fine in school at FT.SAM HOUSTON.The no.1 son calls last thursday mornin.Pop,come now! 4 1/2 hrs. later we make it to FT.HOOD.Bout 7 oclock pm he gets turned loose till 10pm .Leaving in the mornin pop. ...............Yep,lets go get some grubb son.Than the fastest 3 hrs. in history flew by.I gotta go pop,.......... Yep.Drive my truck now and than ta keep the battery charged O.K? ...........Yep.Make a hand boy,you know I will pop. Call us when you get somewhere..............Yep. Fri.night he calls from Bangor, Maine.They are treating us fine pop. Not a word since.I guess he is doing some rural living on a dune somewhere. Support our troops! You dang rite I took him a new J.D.hat ! Anybody else with stars in yhe window?

No current stars, but my grandma displayed her son's Gold Star till the day she died, almost 30 years.

We're praying for our troops.

We've got one. My stepson is in the 101st Airborne, and will be heading to Kuwait within a week. My wife and I are NOT happy about this whole war situation, and we're praying that it doesn't happen, for his safety and the safety of all the rest of the kids in the military. ('Nuff said, we don't want to get into any political debates.)

He calls us every few days to give us updates. He says he's ready for whatever happens, but my wife and I aren't. We talk to him about life on the farm, and remind him that he has something to come home to.

We're praying that all our personnel stay safe.

All is well! got a call this morning. No politics just support for our kids who were helping around home till 6 weeks ago. Salsa,chips and the new 4x4 mag. were top request along with the peanut butter fudge of course!

God bless you and your family. Will remember your men in our prayers. Keep the peanut butter fudge and other goodies coming. Be resigned to a 50% delivery rate, the APO boys seem to get hungry to- at least they did in the RVN.

yep we have one...my cousin shipped out on wed. he moved up his wedding to last monday to make that my new cousin is taken care of in a worst case scenario.

I've coached basketball for over twenty years now and a number of my former players are on active duty in the military. I still look at them as "my boys" and pray for their safe tenure there and safe return.

My Daughter and son in law are in the USAF . Both my wife and I served for over 20 yrs each . My Dad did 20 + in the Army . I guess it's in the blood . I served time in SEA, but I never thought it was a big deal . But, I really worry about my kids . Maybe it' s just a parent thing . I remember when I was shipping out . I turned to see my Dad with tears in his eyes . That was the first time I ever saw him cry . I guess he knew then what I know now . John

I hope God will watch over our troops. I was really struck the other day when a younger man I work with, 22yo, who is in the Guard, was called up. I like the kid a lot and ride motorcyles with him and a few other guys. It puts a face on it all for me now--his. He is a good kid and I worry for him. I know our President is a good man, and despite my pacifist nature, I believe there is a time for everything and the time for war may have come. I wish it could be otherwise. God bless our troops and our President that he will use the mightest and most honorable military that has ever strode the face of this planet, the pride of the United States of America, with wisdom and humility. J
