200 Gallon Aluminum Spray Tank

I've got to quit reading the market bulletins!
I've run across some 200 gallon aluminum spray tanks for sale. No pumps or hoses, etc. All plumbing/fittings are on the tanks for setting up a sprayer but hoses are cut off or removed. No holes or tears, etc. No luck yet with google to find a new price for aluminum tanks but poly seems to be about $225-$275 for that size. Any idea what the aluminum tanks are worth?

I've seen the 400 gal. military aluminum fuel or water tanks selling for $500-$1,000.

The 400gl tanks are probably a lot heavier than these 200gl, and for water or fuel likely cradle mounted.
These are pretty lightweight cylindrical tanks designed for agricultural spray application, with all fittings welded in that would be required. There's a carrying bracket designed to cradle one tank strapped to it and bolt to the front of a JD. Two tanks are available. I'm thinking I'll convert the carrying frame to 3ph and use one of the tanks as a broadcast sprayer primarily for insecticide spraying around here and build a skid frame for the other tank and use it as my diesel storage tank.

That'll work. I have to be careful of the market bulletins. There's just too much stuff out there you don't know you need until someone puts it up for sale. Those are especially dangerous if you were born with the pack rat, scavenger or MacGyver gene. If you got all three ... watch out!

Dumb question (hopefully not one of a series).. What is this market bulletin you guys are talking about?? Sounds like it may have just what I need in it, but I'll have to see one to know just exactly what it is that I need.

A monthly or bimonthly publicatioin generally published by a state's agriculture/forestry department. Lists free classified ads, generally by/for farmers, etc.
Louisiana Market Bulletin
Mississippi Market Bulletin

There are probably others out there, but these are the only links I have available. More things for sale than you would believe! And occasionally a real bargain...

Seems that my biggest problem is that I'm always needing something. I've got several "projects" going that I can't get around to finishing because I'm continuously adding projects to the list. Bought a sicklebar mower a month or two ago out of the mkt bulletin to cut my ditchbanks and pond with. Still haven't got it set up for the tractor yet and need to do a few small repairs on it. Bought the two spray tanks for $100 and had to give $150 for the rack to mount one of them on the tractor. Now I've got to build a cradle for the other on a skid frame and set it up for a diesel tank. Not a lot of work, but it adds up little by little... And then there's my wife with her needs and priorities, so the list goes on and on.

I know what you mean. FWIW, I used to live in Vicksburg. I didn't get to Monroe much, but I used to cross the bridge to Delta to buy gas. There used to be a guy nick-named Horsefly that lived around Tallulah that often had equipment for sale. He bought a tandem once and found out if he didn't have his info printed on the doors he could get fined. So he got a bottle of that liquid shoe polish with the brush on the top and took care of it.

I know what you mean. I also subscribe to both, and I could spend everything I make buying stuff. I just picked up a nice set of pallet forks from the LA bulletin.
