While looking at new tractors at a local dealer, he also showed me a 2000 430 HST with a 420 loader, 47 backhoe and industrial tires. The tractor has about 600 hours and appears to be in good shape an operating well. His initial offer was $14,900. The tractor is in Kansas. What is the opinion of all of you JD experts on the price for this setup?

That same set up new would probably would have cost around $25,000 in the year 2000,maybe more. Offer him $12,000 and start from there. I have a 1999 JD 4400 and over all for the way I have abused mine and tested the limits I have been satisfied. If you are doing a lot of heavy pulling with AG tires the rear wheel bolts have a tendency to work loose, the R-4 ( industrial ) tires allow more slippage which delivers less torque to the rear wheel bolts. I have the AG tires ( R-1) and I just keep a close eye on my lugs and use a little red thread locker on occasion. If you have any more questions let me know I will try to answer them the best based on my expirence.
