I have been considering installing rear remotes on my TC40D until I called the dealer to get a price... They wanted $975 for the kit! Anyone know where to find this kit maybe a little cheaper?

NH parts are not cheap. Messick's shows the kit for #1 is $985 and #2 is $935 so your dealer is not ripping you off. Don't forget the shipping cost. See if your dealer will throw that in.

I got lucky last year and found a first remote for my 2004 Case DX45 at a dealer for $650. The dealer had it in stock and since it did not fit any current models he was willing to discount it quite a bit. The Case and NH are the same (other than color) so you may want to call around and check.

I got my rear remotes a few years ago when I picked up my used Bush Hog BH from a dealer down in SC. Since I need the remotes and I bought the BH off him he gave me the remotes for $200. Probably old stock and just wanted to get ride of them.

maybe call around and see, but now that the tractor is 12-14yo it might be a little tough finding them in stock at a dealer.

Good Luck

I have spent a little time searching and calling around with no luck. This may sound ridicules but what if I removed the FEL and made up some lines that could reach from where the bucket hooks up. Of course it would be a temporary fix but it could work, right?

Why don't you want to buy the kit from Messicks instead of jerry rigging something? $985 is a lot of money, but sometimes that's the cost of doing something 'right' and being able to use your FEL and the rear remote at the same time.

I really don't want to "jerry rig" something but the bottom line is, I just don't have the $ right now. Maybe the best thing is to continue to research and hope I come across something. I am in western NY and we aren't haying now... I could however use a snowblower. :)

It's not a brand new tractor and the part for a tc 40 might be the same on some other model NH, Case, maybe LS. I'd get that part # and scour the online boneyards looking for one from a junkyard. Decades ago I got lucky and got a junkyard remote kit for maybe 75% off.

Woods Gannon had a top n tilt kit for TC40's. Check with Messicks and get the parts breakdown (TL429 Kit) as it uses an adaptor block that goes on the 3 point quadrant valve. They did have a single or double spool valve top and/or tilt kit that you could diagram. You can buy a valve through Tisco or other aftermarket that will mount on fender. Quick couplers are Pioneer 1/4" or whatever you desire. Sorry I don't have numbers, but I can't get Messicks Woods parts section to work and I can't find in Woods website.
