I know this is WAAAAAY overdue but I pulled up this old thread and realized I never gave any concluding remarks...
Fixed the coolant tank so no problem there. Finally got around to changing the fuel filter and holy cow!!! It was horrible! I don't know where all this crud came from but it was bad. I was pretty low on diesel anyway so I drained the tank and flushed it with a little with fresh diesel. Immediate improvement in horsepower. At this point I'm figuring the loud screaming noise was potentially the fuel pump that was working overtime trying to get fuel through that filter.
No change in the parking brake light. That's a project that continually gets pushed to the back burner given it has no noticeable impact in performance. I can't use my cruise control which is probably a direct result of this parking brake sensor but that's no big deal. Hour meter also blank on panel.
Also, my HST pedals stick occasionally, and my throttle lever leaks down (fast), and I recently blew out a bucket cylinder on my FEL, so I've got plenty to keep me busy.
