Maybe it hasn't been maintained. Maybe it has. If it were me, I would just change the fluids and all filters Don't worry about trying to flush the engine; a good oil should do that and you'll have another engine oil change in 50 hours anyway. There is controversy about changing the hydraulic fluid, but I believe in changing it if in doubt. Filters (especially air and oil) are critically important in Diesel engines, more so than gas engines. The new engine oil will look dirty as soon as you run the engine; don't worry about it. Diesel (C-rated) oil performs the critical function of collecting soot and holding it in suspension, which is the main reason it needs to be changed on schedule long before the lubricating properties are compromised. I don't believe in oil additives but you might consider fuel additives, particularly a biocide if you don't use it quickly and a fuel enhancer if you still have summer fuel in the tank when it gets cold.
