2004 250 Honda Recon wont Idle

Well my warranty is over and I cant afford to take this back to the dealer. 1 day before warranty expired I had the Honda at the dealer and they said everything was fine. It seems like this idle /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif thing is getting worse. When it gets warm it will sometimes idle most of the time it wont. I have tried the idle screw but it has to idle to high to keep the machine running. It wont shift when its cold either. I think this is the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased. Dealer talked me out of the suzuki I was looking at. I bought the Honda based on their reputation. Well any technical advice would be appreciated. I'm wondering if the valves may need adjusted. Any advice on the shifting would be great too. Dealer again said fine. He just wanted me to bring it back so he could get $$ out of me.

Valves would be my guess.I am doing mine today.When the valves get tight they dont idle until warm.Cold weather really brings out the worst in out of adjustment valves.

Ok I guess I'll have to buy a manual. I have never adjusted valves before. I'm very mechanical so maybe with a little help I can get this fixed. Thanks!
