I just took delivery on a bx1500 right before getting about a foot of snow 2 days ago. Thanks go to all the various message posters who helped me in this decision. It has the 54" deck, loader, Woods rbc 60 blade with a horse mat installed, and a block heater. The 2004 improvements include the new hood latch, the new differential lock pedal, but I'm not sure if the lights were changed also. On my first test in snow removal, it pushed the snow like it wasn't even there. I definitely concur with the other bx1500 posters here and on other sites that it has plenty of power and it is not necessary to pay more for a bx2230 which now uses the D902 engine. This is the 3 cylinder version of the more recently developed bx1500 engine, as opposed to the much older D905 engine on the bx2200. Can't wait for more snow to plow to get over my break-in period before I have to start mowing in the spring.
