Price Check 2004 BX23 Used Pricing

Just hang in there.
New prices are much greater.
My John Deere 950 got almost as much as I paid for it used 20 years ago.

A fellow my town had a very nice b23.
Someone else purchased for his price of $14,500.
It had a snow blower and grader blade and spare tires and few other things.

It's sad to sell a tractor until you realize it will have a new home and a lot more work to do.

Getting the money is the hard part but there are people out there who have it and are willing to buy.

You might think that it being winter would slow things down.
But people will put a blower on the back and go to town.

That's true...If one does pop up in the paper, it's gone in a day or so...Word of mouth usually gets them sold first...Just say the word, there are people looking. A 6K savings or so over new is significant.

Thanks for the info lawlopez, stevess & timswi. I'm definitely not thrilled about parting with my little 'bota, but circumstances are forcing my hand a bit. I'll be taking pics this weekend and will post on here to give you guys a better idea of condition. Just an fyi - I'll likely be putting my 16' landscape trailer up as well (won't need it once the bx is gone). I'll get a few pics of that as well and get them up here.

Thanks again for the advice, folks!

Paid $10,500 for my 2005 BX23 about eight months ago. It had 100 hrs, on it and the bucket had scratches, but everything else like new. I thought I got a good deal. I watch eBay and $13,500 seems a little high to me. I would guess you may get something in the middle.

10.5 is an excellent price, especially for the hours...Mine has an MMM..That's probably where the 13.5 comes from.

I HAD TO GO DOWN TO THE GARGAE TO See if my BX23 was still there. Mine os an 04 with less than 200 hours as well. Don't think I will ever sell it, and with the reasoning of a new one with zero interest, I have even less of a reason to sell.
What they won't tell ya about the new bota's I will....They don't build em like they used too!

if you go with the kubota 0% finance deal, do they make you purchase the kubota insurance for 250.00 -300.00 depending on the amount financed per year? A lot of buyers dont know about this upfront, just see the 0%

You don't have to buy their insurance but you do have to have insurance just like when you buy a car and finance it. The lender requires some protection to cover their interest. I have bought the Kubota Insurance on some of my purchases and used my current Homeowners Insurance with some purchases. The Kubota Insurance for the price is hard to beat since it adds more coverage than a normal Homeowners policy or an add on "Marine" policy.
"Most" Homeowner Policys will only cover your Tractor while it is on the Insured property but not if your on someone elses property. Kubota Insurance also covers the replacement of parts "BX fan" if you tear it up but Homeowners "usually" doesn't course the Kubota Insurance has a $500? Deductable which you will pay each and evry time which will itself pay for "many" repairs.
We keep having this "discussion" concerning Kubota Insurance vs Homeowners and each person needs to check with their Agent to determine their coverage and then make a decision based on their planned usage and financial position then make a decision which Company they want to Insure their Tractor/RTV. It's Insurance!!!! Make an informed decision then buy and be able to sleep at night.:)

My bx23 price was $8,500
It had 1300 hours.
It was being sold out of Kittery, Maine (population 10,000).
It was being sold by a real estate agent.
It was probably a depreciated asset of the real estate company.

I think it was mostly a depressed market in a somewhat less populous location by a realistic seller who didn't want to hold it for ever.

I know for sure if you try to sell something in a small town off the beaten path that you will have trouble selling it.

The 1300 hours would cause some pause to some people but if it's getting any kind of maintenance that is small potatoes. It's equivalent to 17 years old for a human (67 years life expectency, 1300 hours, 5000 hours).

I don't know if my thinking is correct on this.
