2006 F350 Lariet Crew Cab SRW

Eddie they had all the issues fixed by then and the 6.0 was a great engine if maintained. I got lucky with my 04 and its been trouble free as has my 06. Main thing is maintenance. Do 5K oil changes and keep the other filters clean and you will have a great rig.

Big issue around here is 2 wheel drive but I guess it will be ok for you guys down in Texas.

Thanks. It's what I want, but not something I have to have. I'll probably go take a look at in next week if I'm in the area.

When I wanted to trade my 1999 F250 v10, Lariat, crew cab with 85K miles for an 08 F250 diesel, dealer offered $6000. It was in excellent condition with mulitple options. Personally, I don't think the OPs truck is worth 27K, wrecked and repossed. I paid 35.5K new for my 2008 F250 lariat crew cab. There should be some upcoming great deals on 2009 large pickups with Ford introducing the new model 2010. The Ford trucks with the 6.4 diesel had some early issues but those were worked out in the Job 1 and 2 trucks.

The 06 and 07 ford diesels had most of the problems of the earlier years corrected and are reliable.

I'll tell you this- I wear the pants in our family, and just because my wife has a 2005 Ford F250 diesel, and a 450 Mercedes roadster, and a 2002 Jeep TJ, and a 1947 Willy's Jeep, I am still in charge because I have a VW diesel.

What's wrong with this picture?:confused2:

Might want to check with your insurance people first. I'm looking to upgrade and the insurance quoted is steering me back to a 350/3500 chassis. A 450/550 was over double my currrent policy.

Thank you. My brother just told me the same thing over the weekend, and to avoid the F450 because of the insurance rates. I'm going to call Geico and ask them for a quote on a similar F350 and F450 to see what the difference is. Right now, I pay $700 a year for my F250 that's 12 years old.

Eddie;

Ever thought about checking with USAA? They now insure anyone that served in the armed forces. I pay $620 per year for my 2006 F-350 dually diesel, including a slide-in camper.
Actually, I might make a separate post to let all TBN' ers know about it.

Looks like she's got the on-road toys, and you've got the off-road toys....!

They will not touch anything over a 350/3500 and it has to be personal use only. They currently insure my cars, but not my truck. For car and home, there pricing is really tough to beat.

Great point, that I didn't know. Perhaps Eddie can save some $$ on his current truck policy though, I know he served in the Marines.....
And you are indeed correct, I have a few homes & cars insured with them as well as a few mortgages, and they are very hard to beat. I also had a $100K truck & trailer with camper/equipment stolen, they were simply "brilliant" in their response.
I've posted some general info on USAA in "related topics". Sorry for hi-jacking the post....
