My brother just bought a new ZO6 Corvette. That thing should be illegal. I have never been in a car that runs like that monster. I have a '94 vette and this thing is in a whole different league. It's that mid life crisis thing going on.

I lack the personal restraint to have a piece like that, but it would be a blast while it lasted.

What an obscenely overpowered, ecologically unsound vehicle. I wish I had one!

John )</font> I sold this '69 427 car last spring.......I thought the old ones ran good, but the new vettes are NUTZ ! You actually feel safe at 150 mph in the new ones. I'll have to wait 6-8 years & get a 2006 Z06 then when the price drops a bit.

I've got the same plan, but it's for a 2006 Mustang GT. Maybe I'll add the 2006 Z06 five years after that!!!

As cool as the Vette's are, I'm still saving my nickels and dimes for a Viper... I wonder how thier engineering team is going to respond to the newest Vette.

I always liked the Viper, but I believe this is the Vette that would give it a run. If Daimler were to one-up them it could get interesting.

Tom, Nice looking old Vette. Those Big Blocks were pretty awesome in their day. I bet you miss it now and again?

John )</font> I was saving 2 old vetts for my kids college funds. (They're 9 & 10) I sold them last spring & put the money into 2 spec houses in cape coral Fl. I figured I could do better in the long run putting the money into real estate..........Time will tell ?.........I still have a barn that's too full of old cars........just not vettes. I always wanted a vette........they're out of my system now for awhile .........for now anyway !

The ones that amaze me are prices on Hemi Mopars. There are Hemi Cuda's going for $3-500K. I really like Mopars, but it still amazes me /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I like the smaller Vettes myself. They blend in with other machines and you can stealthfully move through traffic at high rates of speed /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif A Viper seems so much bigger and feels bigger from the seat (I've only sat in one). Vettes are in the family blood too. It's on my must have list in the next 5 years or so. Saw one blowing through traffic around Albany NY the other day......Insane!

I am with Jim.

I test drove a Vette when a friend was a salesman at a Chevy dealer. Talk about quick....but to be fair, compared to my Geo Storm, everything is quick. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My wife really wants a Vette and I would love to buy her one although Vipers have always intrigued me. So when an old boss of mine threw the keys to her new Viper at me and said 'See what you think' I jumped. I admit its pretty tight but there is a great 'seat of the pants' feel to the Viper. It is, however, a bit odd to see the sticker on the door that says to not touch it as it gets hot.

So as I was trying to decide if she deserved the Vette or the Viper for her, I bought a new Dodge 4x4 dually for me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I hope I get allowed back in the house this year....
Regards,
Mark
