I have two dealers here to choose from, one has RC100s (2006s) instock and one is waiting on 2007 models. Anybody know if the 2007s price is increasing? It might make choosing the dealer easier, I don't want to waste anyones time and if the new models are 5k more it's an easy choice for me.

Thanks,
Ted

I don't know of a price change. The 06 and 07 machines should have no change.

Maka, Do you know of any changes to the machine's themselves from 06-07? When I bought mine they had 05's and 06's, I prefered and my dealer seconded an 06 because of the switch to perkins engine verses cat. They are an perkins dealer and had been having servicable issues with the cats. I also think they moved the condensor to the roof on 06's, but not sure. Robbie

The roof mounted AC condensor is important to prevent overheating when mulching.

I have not heard about a price increase for 2007. I also asked about ASV moving to the SR platform for the 100 HP model, but ASV denies plans to do so in the near future.

Thank you for the replies. I will have numbers from dealer #1 tomorrow and the other will be out next Wed...

Man, I'm chomping at the bit...I was at the orchard today checking out the areas to be cleared (after pruning 105 apple trees) and it couldn't be better for a Timber Ax or Carbide Grinder. I have a solid 4 weeks of pruning before the claring part, I should have everything in order by then.

Hey Ted, Your orchard project sounds golden. You get your toy and a good place to learn with it. Have you narrowed down your choice between the timberax and a carbide cutter? I saw a FECON tracked machine today, over 400 H.P. A friend of mine is overseeing a sewer line install and they are using a excavator mounted head and the fecon. What a monster, He's going to take me by to talk to the guy next week and let me druel on his machine. Robbie

I am still leaning toward the Timber AX but do plan on trying a few before I make the purchase. It just seems to produce a better finished job. A local Bobcat dealer does rent/sell the Fecon Bull Hogs, I will rent or demo one. ASV dealer has a Bradco Magnum grinder in stock but they seem to be higher priced. I have already been on a Loftness Carbide grinder demo, the rep is bringing down a Timbr Ax in the next few weeks. Of course, I am just watching right now but I can get a feel for what the attachment can do. I may not purchase right away, just rent until I have a steady flow of clearing work, I can fill in with other grading or hardscapes jobs.

The price of the replacement carbides, kind of scares me....I like the Timber Ax replacement cost.

I may pile all the apple tree clippings and just TIMBER AX em'..

That excavator mounted Fecon must chew up some trees!

The excavator is one machine, the tracked machine is another. Both are unbelievable. You will not be dissapointed with the timberax. Yes the carbide teeth are out of sight. I will go to my local metal shop and see what they can do about blades before I purchase anymore from loftness, if nothing else save on shipping. If you get one I'll let you know if that works. The renting is a safe and smart route. You could even buy the head and lease a machine. Just a thought. Robbie

I am not sure of the '07's are due for a price increase or not. But this past summer when I was looking at truck flatbeds and trailers, the price gradually crept up with each new shipment the dealer received mostly due to increased steel and fuel prices. This may hold true for new machines as well.

With updated pricing I was quoted $54,900 for an 2007 RC100. Does this sound correct? After tax and dealer fees, out the door price was $58,444. His price on my trade in was lower than #2 dealer quoted over the phone ($3000 lower) so I'll see what happens next week. I will put my skid steer back in the local Heavy Equip Trader mag and see if I can sell it myself since I have a month before I will be ready to make the purchase.
