2007 Chevy 3500 Chasis cab Duramax

I tried real hard to find a single cab DRW 4x4 D-Max 3500 when I bought my last truck. Couldn't find anything but double cabs or ext. cabs. I really wanted that Dmax engine. My family runs a lot of different engines/truck combinations and so far the Dmax has by far outclassed the rest.

But so far I'm pretty happy with my Ford 6.0 PSD.

Should be a nice truck. Is it a 07 classic (like an 06) or is it a newer 07 like an 08? From the mileage you listed I am guessing it is a newer one with the DPF. Also sounds like it has 4.10 gears? It should do a great job pulling your trailer.

Your truck was not the norm. We have a 2005 3500 SRW and we get between 10 and 11 mpg pulling our 10k 33' travel trailer in the mountains and average between 16 and 17 mpg the rest of the time. We also have 3 or 4 friends that get about the same mileage.

I was told that the guy who traded the truck in had a small marina, and he only used the truck to move boats around between marinas, and between dry docks. I researched the VIN, and it shows 3.73 gears, so maybe I will get better mileage.

That truck will amaze you. Get a PPE tuner and get the most out of the Duramax. I have a 07 3500 SLT to haul my mulcher. Pulled this load through the hills of Kentucky and West Virginia 400 miles at 65 MPH the whole way.. oh it crossed the scales at 29800 Pounds

Your making me smile:D That is impressive. I have a similar trailer about ten feet shorter. I am Leary of getting a tuner right away because it will void my warranty. I spoke with a guy yesterday who runs utility bucket trucks with the Duramax Allison combo. he said no problems at all, and even with the trucks always loaded, with heavy city driving they are averaging 7-8 mpg, thats with 3.73 gears. I am hoping I will be up in the 10-11 range, I bet the tuner would put me in the 12-13 range when on the highway.
