Any tips, secrets or info on accessing and replacing the alternator on a 2008 Bobcat Toolcat. Battery light is coming on and machine will eventually lock down. Have done voltage check and appears alternator is not working. Would like to access the alternator and check for corroded or broken wires and check for current at the source. Any info on the access or replacement of alternator would greatly be appreciated.

From the Service Manual Pages 60-30-5,6

1) Raise the cargo box and install the approved cargo box support device.
2) Remove the passenger's seat
3) Drain the coolant from the engine. (enough to get the level below the thermostat housing)
4) Disconnect negative cable from the battery.
5) Disconnect the red wire on the back of the alternator that comes from the battery.
6) Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the alternator.
7) Remove the ground cable and bolt from the front of the alternator.
8) Disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat housing.
9) Remove the adjustment bolt from the top mounting bracket.
10) Remove the bolt holding the upper bracket on. Remove bracket.
11) Remove the belt.
12) Remove the last mounting bolt and nut from the front of the alternator.
13) Remove alternator.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply DEWFPO, your help was right on. Got it done and it actually wasn't to bad to do. A bit of cross armed wrench work , but all good. Thx so much for your input. Steve.
