I have a 200 CX loader that I'm having a problem with the parking stand pipe bending at the support bracket. This is the second parking stand that this has happened to and I know of another person who has had the same problems with the pipe bending at this point. It's bending to the point that if you try to straighten it out it breaks totally off , I've had the loader for three years now and have taken it off probably 50 times. Has anybody else having this problem or heard of a design flaw? This happened on a flat concrete floor in the garage.

There where a lot of threads early on when the 200 series loaders first came out-but none recently. I wonder if the newer ones are better reinforced?

The problem mainly stemmed from taking the loader of on soft and/or uneven surfaces-but it sounds like you have that covered...

I just looked in JDParts-I think there may have been a update?

9 AW34790 STAND 1 X (SUB FOR AW33086)

The "SUB For..." has me thinking so...

The other common culprit is taking it off with the mounting for the snowthrower still attached. If that's not the case, is there anything that might make the front mounting plate a little off-spec?

Yes, I have had the same problem, happen today and two other times. Where can I find the parking stand part and what's the cost.

Welcome to TBN:D
The stand is about $200 I think through JD. Register for free at www.jdparts.com and you can find it. There is a quick tutorial linked in my signature if you need help with it.

I have a 2011 2720 with the 200CX I have taken the loader off about 6 times and today I just went to take it off and instead of lifting off the frame the stnad just bent.
I always take it off in the garage on a smooth level cement floor.
what is the warranty on this part, I cetainly never expected it to bend.
Dealer is closed for holiday weekend will call on Monday and see what happens.
How difficult is it to swap out?
Can it be done with loader on tractor?
If not how do you take the loader off?

Thanks
Paul

Paul, the warranty is one year I believe on attachments-the other questions I cannot answer for you. I guess you need to see if the dealer will work with you.

Thanks Kennyd

Just looked up the part on JD parts $331,and the part number has chnaged again (4th time) to AW35648.
Looks easy enough to change out by parts digram.
Not crazy about spending that kind if $$ on a parking stand. Espically when I don't know why it bent or what I did wrong.
I was just takingthe FEL off to put the snow blower on.
If I can straighten it out again (its half way up the hood guard) I thinking about cutting it and adding a thick wall tube inside the stock JD tubing,
then welding back together with my mig. Grind it smooth and paint it and know would know it was ever bent. Plus it would be a lot stronger.
Right now I think about putting a sling (car tie down type) on each loader arm near the mast and using a come along to the attached to the rafters lift the mast off the tractor.
Since the book states loader frame weighs 380lbs their should be less then 100lbs on each sling since 1/3 of the weight is on the bucket resting on the floor.

Other option is to put a lift hook in each of the 3/8 hole at top of each mast. However with my luck I am afraid the mast would crack.

Thanks
Paul

I bent mine last winter the same way. That is I have no idea why. To straighten it I put an iron bar under the FEL bucket, over the top of the stand and then under the front mount for the snowblower. I lowered the bucket which pushed down on the stand until it looked like it was back where it used to be. That did the trick. I made up a couple of braces to weld under the area that bent, but due to injuries this year I have not been able to weld them on.

This is how I bent mine. Forgot I had left the front quick hitch on and the parking stand WILL NOT clear it.

Unless it is bent really bad, it should still be funtional enough to take the loader off the tractor. Might be possible to replace the stand without removal from the tractor, but I think it is much easier if it is off the machine. I supported my loader with a couple of floor jacks while changing out the stand.

This may not apply to yours, but I noticed that the newer version of the parking stand is a larger diameter tube than the older one (mine is a 2007). The old one was 1 1/4 diameter and the new one was 1 1/2 (I think, anyway, it was 1/4 inch larger in diameter than the original).

The first time I took a 200CX loader off on a concrete floor, I noticed how hard the parking stand slid on the concrete. Since then I keep a piece of plywood on the floor where I park the loader. The parking stand slides a lot easier on the plywood.

Have not had time to do much with this parking stand, except possibly plan fix.
I will call dealer on Monday but after reading about everyone else's issue I got a feeling dealer is not going to do much except quote me a price for a new part.
Here are a few pics pf the bent Parking stand.
As you can see it the bottom sits way to high and I can't even hing down the grill guard.
When trying to take the FEL off the stand bent instead of lifting the weight of the FEL frame.

Once I get this thing straight again (not sure how at this point) and the FEl off the tractor, I plan to take the stand off and weld a 1/4" plate x 3" plate making a TEE on the bottom of the tube.
It will be really tough to bend that.

Paul

I don't know much about the 200cx, but someone mentioned the way the parking stand slides on the ground during the removal process. The parking stand on my 70A loader does the same thing. When removing the loader, I put the tractor in neutral so instead of dragging the parking stand across the ground, the tractor just rolls instead.

I tried to put my 200cx loader on while still having the mount for the front pto in place. As others have stated this does not work!
However, I used a chain from the stand to the bucket and slowly curled till the stand would clear. I now leave the front 3pt hookup in place all the time since I use it for my broom attachment every few weeks and it makes changeover quicker.
I also always put the tractor in Neutral no brake whe removing or replacing the loader

I now have a BIG cardboard sign that I hang on my loader when it's off the tractor that says "REMOVE FRONT QUICK HITCH".

I understand bending the stand if the Quick Hitch is in place. However, the hitch was not installed and I was in the process of removing FEL -- Not installing it whenthe stand bent.
Called dealer this morning, of course its out of warranty, dealer has no record of an parking stand issues.
Dealer had me call John Deere customer service.
Spoke to a very nice woman who stated John Deere has no recoreds of any issues with the 200CX parking stand.
According to her no one has ever reported a bending issue with the parking stand on the 200CX.
I sent her the pictures of mine and advised he of the forums where people are discussing this issue.
She stated you cannot believe what you read on the forum sites!

Anyway they want the dealer to come out and look at the stand before statinf they will do anything.
Service call will cost me $95.00
New Stand is $236 plus tax.
I can change out stand myself.

Should I just order a new stand OR see if JD will do something????
If I just buy the new stand the issue with JD will just be closed.
P.S. dealer agreed the stand should be flat plate like the 300CX and agreed if I weld a 1/4" tee shaped fin on bottom would really add a lot of strenght to the tube.

I bought my 2720 in September this year. Our parking stands are different. Mine has a pair of feet that slides on the floor.

Funny how there is never any issues they "know of." Sad. I've been reading about these stands year after year ever since they came out.
John Deere is starting to sound like the Ford Powerstroke of the tractor world, LOL. No problems but everywhere you read nothing but horror story after horror story.
I hope you read these forums John Deere, because there won't be one in my yard. I already own a Powerstroke, LOL.

Intersting to see you new 2012 model vs my 2011 model.
Why the change?
The feet will certainly slide easier then the tube.
The 300CX CX has similiar feet but uses a flat bar instead of a tube.

Spending the $95 for the dealer to come out here just documents the issue.
Depending on what JD decides will detrmine if I have to pay for a new stand.

Your last picture that shows the paint missing is where I have seen these stands bend my old 200 cx included. The trick has been mentioned and that is to let the loader push the tractor so the stand doesn't slide. Not sure what the feet that were pictured would actually do.
