2009 John Deere 3032E
2010 3032e. Won’t start. I’ve replaced the fuel solenoid shutoff, replaced the relays, replaced fuel filter and vented injectors just to name a few. I pulled the fuel solenoid shutoff and it is not retracting when I turn the key halfway. If the key is halfway and I push the solenoid in it holds until I take the key to off at which it pops out. Somehow the initial opening of the solenoid is not happening but the hold is. I have fuel. Took the fuel line off the inlet to the injector pump and it was coming out good when the lift pump was running. The seat safety switch is bypassed also. I’m thinking I might have a ground somewhere. Any suggestions on what to trouble shoot next? I’m running out of ideas and really don’t want to hunt down a ground. Thanks.

Sure sounds like the dreaded thermister type of thing. Do a search for John Deere thermister problem and see what you find. Should be a number items out there concerning it.

Thanks for the help. I’ll give it a shot. My plans is to also replace the neutral switch. Fingers crossed.

Can you post a photo of the solenoid.

You are on the right track, it sounds like the pull-in coil is not doing it's job.

Is the solenoid a two or three wire ?

Make some ohm measurements of the coils to ground. I don't know what the readings should be, but definitely not open.

Are you at all familiar with the John Deere thermister principle? Measurements of the coils really aren't necessary if there's no signal getting to pull coil, as is most always the problem in these cases. Testing said pull coil with a 12v jumper wire will quickly confirm whether it works or not. No resistance readings needed for that.
