As far as the * marks on the balancer goes.. your gonna hafta pull the valve cover and rotate the engine until the valves r loose, then make a pointer..
UNLESS u wanna drop a valve on the piston to find TDC.??

Before replying here again and after purchasing the service manual a few days ago, I did remove the valve cover and got it to tdc but finding the 1° I could not figure out so I just guessed.
After resetting the pump it starts up right away runs fairly well only smokes when upping the idle. But it still seams to run not perfect and would hate to ruin a new rebuilt engine in a few months time.
