2011 rtv 900xt transmission oil

I just bought a used 2011 rtv 900 and see that you are supposed to change the transmission filters at 50 hrs. I will need to add a little oil then and I was wondering, do they come from the factory with the regular oil in them or the synthetic? You can't mix the two, right?

don't quote me on this, but i think it is how the dealer sets them up. i bet most use the kubota sudt2 fluid in them, but there might be a few that don't. as far as i know, the rtv 900's still use the kubota sudt2 oil for the transmission/hydraulics. i am not positive, but don't think that the sudt2 oil is synthetic, but the lable states that it is fully interchangeable with standard udt fluids. i doubt that the rtv came with synthetic oil in it and bet you would be fine adding the sudt2 oil. that is what i run in mine for the past 500+ hours.

My 2 cents.

The udt is good for warm climates.

The sudt/sudt2 is for colder climates.

The new sudt2 is probably the best and this is one place where buying the best oil is the best for overall protection of the system.

And no substitutes, use Kubota's oil.

I'd say Namesray has it right. Your RTV will likely have the dealer's sticker on it. I'd suggest calling the dealer to verify the fluid. If all else fails and you want to be sure, spend the extra buck and change the fluid. I changed my fluid at 50 hrs, but the drained fluid sure looked as clean as new.

Thanks guys, I went to the dealer today and they said it had the sudt in it. I bought some sudt/2 as they said that was the best stuff for it. It isn't cheap but I guess I don't have to change it that often so like one guy said, might as well use the kubota fluid in it.

SUDT is NOT synthetic, is expensive, and what I use, both for RTV and Grand L5030.

Yes, 50 hr change was VERY CLEAR.
