2013 Kubota BX25 90 hours buy price?

Okay, so yesterday I get a lead on a tractor.... because you know.... I've been talking about buying a tractor to anyone who will listen for at least 2 months and everyone knows I am looking..... anyways, there was a death in a family, the grandfather had 2013 BX25 TLB (Not a D, and no mower) with 90 hours on it. They will take $13K to just not have to deal with it.

I had a couple photos sent to my phone, it's new looking, no appearing faded, scratched or otherwise marked aside from the tips of the BH teeth and a little bit at the front edge of the loader bucket. It is shiny, bright orange with no fade and plastic is fresh looking based on the photos.

So They already said $13K would take it. But... it's not a D with the thumb mount, has a pin on bucket (no SSQA) and no mower. I'm thinking of going tonight to look at it and acting like I am surprised/sad about the base model and trying to get them to $12,000 or $12,500 with me standing there with cash in hand.

Would that deal, even at $13,000, be a fair deal, or am I getting a killer deal? I want to be able to get out of this with minimal or no loss if it is to small to do the work I want to do.

I am considering this a test purchase. Test the SCUT at low money and decide if I can live with it or just cut the crap and go order the Kioti CK2610 I was about to pull the trigger on for $27,500.

Nothing wrong with starting out small. In my area, that tractor would go for 15K or so. People here are crazy for those small orange tractors.

If they "don't want to deal with it", why even bother with trying to haggle with 500-1k? If you are going to offer them less, offer 10k and go from there.

Would any of you know the general price step between a BX25 and a BX25D (Deluxe)?

Two trains of thought...
1. At $13K and only 90 hours, it's a deal and you can always sell it for what you paid if you need something bigger.
2. Not knowing what your usage requirements are...but if you're already leaning towards a "B" size tractor, then go with the 2610 and be done with it.

Unless I had a small lot I wouldn't want anything smaller than a "B" myself.

Interestingly enough, I called a local Kubota dealer and asked for an approximate trade value of my 2013 BX25 with 100 hours on it, he said that if it is in pristine condition and not dented, faded, in any way impacted or showing abuse/wear it would be around $13,500. So if I cab get this bought at $12,000 or $12,500 and don't like it... I trade it in at a $13,500 value and save 6% sales tax on $13,500 value. So I actually would be able make out on the correct side of the deal. He suggested that I may want to try to sell "my tractor" outright because he will flip onto the lot at $16,000 and likely sell it at $15,000, or I can try to get that $15,000 myself.

At $13,500m trade value, it not only puts up to $1,500 back in my pocket, but it cuts $810 worth of tax out of the deal from the dealer purchase. That would be $2300 in free money from other people. Man, I should work for the US Government! I can just keep taking money from other people to get what I want

Well, the experiment has begun. The baby tractor came home with us. Now to see what it can or can't do.
