Not sure why Kubota hasn’t come up with something better than a foil sticker for their data plate but in less than 10 yrs, the sticker on my M59 became dang near useless. Fortunately I pealed it off before it was completely illegible, and stored it in my toolbox. 99.9% of the time you’ll never need the serial number but if you do, you will be glad that you have it.
Anyway, my original plan was to cut a square out of aluminum sheet material, hand stamp the information onto it and then rivet the piece to the frame. But instead, I asked my nephew, who runs a cnc laser cutter at his work to cut and etch the information on to a piece of stainless steel for me. It came out great and I I thought I would share.

It really irritates me that none of the manufactures seem to use durable tags for their equipment any more. In 10-20 years it makes it darned hard to ID what something is. Your solution looks amazing!

Nice but not needed (mine came off long ago on both my M9's fyi) as the serial number is stamped in the frame rail usually on the right side, just above the front axle pivot. The engine serial number is stamped on the block as well.

Very nice indeed. I'm sure your nephew already knows but SS, steel and titanium can be made to change colors by varying the heat (time) of the laser. The colors are the same as used for tempering (the right side of the scale below). You can also get black by spraying the article first and burning the black in. The rest is washed off with water. Some really slick effects can be created with a laser.

I really need to get my laser set back up. But I have to make room for it first and that is the current problem.

Have the same issue for the same M59. Nice job. More durable hydraulic valve controls in switching 3pt to backhoe and backhoe valves labels would be nice too. Small cottage businesses?
