If the price is what you are comfortable spending, buy the machine. It's barely broke in. Very common to see these machines with 4K+ hours and no major repairs needed.

I'd much rather have a machine from a large operation that has a maintenance program than from an individual that doesn't know how to check the hydraulic fluid level.
Amen.

Some operations yes but I prefer the individual that had to scrape to buy a very expensive toy and is worried about damage vs the farm worker who doesn't have a cent invested. That's always a tough call which way to go.

Here is the list of stuff Kubota says to replace at 4 years, this list is from my rtv-x1100c owners manual, you'll see why that company traded at 4 years. Not saying all stuff will break but its what Kubota recommends for machine that is needed for work and not be offline for break downs.

You will need to do very little on that list, with under 500 hours on my 2007 RTV1100, mostly done is filters and fluids and did the fan belt this month the compressor belt is still fine.

Check coolant maybe change.

RTV brakes do not get much use with the HST dynamic braking.

Think I would check the valve clearance with the higher engine hours.

Check for soft hoses and double check fuel lines for degradation from BioDiesel and possibly bleed the brakes good if fluid is dark, but they are not in a wet area like I have.

They probably racked up hours at idle.

My RTV did have close to 10 hours from the dealer, think everybody was testing the air conditioning during their lunch.

Thanks guys.

Well, the deal may be off. If you have not seen we are having some serious fires in So Cal. Got a call from the guy this AM saying they had evacuated the farm and the lots and were not sure if anything would be left when they return.

Well since we have gotten soaked up here in Oregon and they are officially calling most of these fires out (lets hope no stumps or roots light up next spring) they dispatched fire department strike teams from Portland and Eugene areas son far to respond to the fires in California for structure protection earlier in the year our county and the adjoining county sent 2 and left us very short so good luck.

Side note, 3 years ago in January we had some slash piles take off during a dry spell up north and the forestry guys were on the radio looking for suggestions on how to break the ice off the fire ponds so the helicopters could dip their buckets in, (hard to keep from laughing) but they were in a serious situation and throwing dynamite was mentioned to break the ice.

We had a blasting business at one time. And a nice, fairly new GMC Sierra work truck. After we closed the business and went to clean up the truck to sell it, we found that apparently our "workers" left the truck running with the A/C on full blast all day long for a cool rest spot out of the drilling and blasting dust. But I guess it was often a little TOO cool with the air on full for hours at a time, so the doors and windows got opened. Resulting in a icy cold cab jam-packed with super-humid, super dusty air. That very effectively condensed on EVERY surface inside the cab.

We had to totally strip the interior, including removing the seats and seat covers, and much of the dash to wash the dirt and dust out of everything.

Just following up, we did buy the machine. Its being delivered next week, ran quite well at the demo and was super clean. Got all the service records so pretty excited.

I think you made a very good purchase. Hope it fills your needs and serves you well.

I use mine for a large range of chores.

I think of an RTV as a miniature 4x4 diesel ton truck with hydraulic dump bed. :)

I told my stepson 10 years ago when he got the RTV, You could buy a Jeep CJ for that. Phewy!

I was wrong. The RTV gets used every day.

I also think of an RTV as a miniature 4x4 diesel ton truck with hydraulic dump bed because it is.
